The stories in this book eloquently demonstrate the proud contribution that Mobimo’s creative power makes to civil society, whether it be as a creator of living spaces or as a private company listed on the stock exchange. In the current environment, the role of the real estate sector in society as a whole is often vigorously debated by certain circles in public discourse. The anniversary offers us the opportunity to present the relevance of our achievements with pleasure and pride.

Mobimo came onto the scene 25 years ago, and it is here to stay. But what will the next 25 years bring? And how can Mobimo maintain and further expand its excellent reputation as a reliable partner and owner in the future?

As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said long ago, “The only constant in life is change.” Workplaces, forms of housing, consumption, the environment and society have always been subject to change, but the cycles of change are much faster today. We feel the effects of this in our projects, too. Needs are changing, complexity is increasing – in social, regulatory and political contexts. It is vital to anticipate change and at the same time continue to put people first in everything we do.

Climate change and protecting the environment are not just trendy issues any more; sustainability literally requires sustained attention. Mobimo integrated the sustainability aspect into its planning very early on, but has further intensified its focus in recent years. A detailed reduction pathway to carbon neutrality by 2050 now serves as our compass. In addition, we are increasingly having the social and environmental compatibility of our projects and properties assessed and certified by accredited institutions.

Over the years, developing, converting and operating whole sites so that they become vibrant districts with mixed uses has become one of Mobimo’s core competencies. Such conversions also have great potential for the future, as the two final expansion stages in the Aeschbachquartier show. And so our story continues to be written.

Mobimo’s drive to create innovative, needs-based, high-quality living space continues unabated. Our broad experience, coupled with the aim of leading the field in what we do, will keep us on track for success – be that for our employees, our tenants and buyers or our investors.
